Today I attended a meet to enhance upon an already implemented Integrated Care roadway (ICP) for mission of the dying patient.
An ICP is a multidisciplinary approach providing a excogitate of anticipated carry on set deep down timeframes (Mirando, Davies and Lipp, 2005).
Todays meeting was organised by healthcare professionals regularly manifold in palliative care who felt that the local ICP for care of the dying patient was non providing the highest standard of care for vary reasons. This meeting therefore aimed to rectify any areas within the ICP which were not allowing a high standard of care to be delivered to patients at the end of their lives.
The healthcare professionals present each discussed aspects of the ICP which they felt could be improved, removed or aspects which they felt should be included with the ICP.
I too was able to record in the meeting as they believed that it was important that the ICP was easy to complete for student nurses, those who are newly qualified and those who have not had a great report of involvement with ICPs. Therefore, I was able to voice any areas within the care plan which I felt may apparent movement confusion or which were difficult to understand.




Through gathering the healthcare professionals views and my own, those present were then able to b assure these ideas forward to the appropriate individuals who would develop the ICP.
I found this a valuable experience as I was able to participate in a meeting which aimed to improve patient care through developing and agreeing on objectives and priorities of care to meet the ask of dying patients.
I find participating in multidisciplinary meetings pall as I do not enjoying speaking in public. Initially I was extremely nervous voicing my opinions in the presence of others whom I look up to however once I had spoken a few times I became more relaxed.
